Playful Programming and Discovering Technology

At this year’s Girls’ Day on April 9, 2025, things got creative, technical – and really exciting at virtual7. Six tech-loving schoolgirls had the opportunity to discover the world of programming together with developer Sonja Piper. The focus was on the versatile micro:bit controller.

Using the visual programming language Scratch, the participants had fun developing their own small projects – including a digital compass, wireless communication and an interactive “rock-paper-scissors” game that pitted controller against controller. “We played rock, paper, scissors against each other – it was really fun,” was the enthusiastic feedback from one participant. And there was definitely no shortage of fun. There was also time to chat and make new friends over pizza and relaxed conversation at lunchtime.

Those who wanted to delve even deeper were also able to gain their first insights into the Python programming language – and see how diverse and creative software development can be. With plenty of team spirit, curiosity and technical enthusiasm, Girls’ Day 2025 at virtual7 was a complete success. The company is already looking forward to the next round – because girls and technology? That’s a perfect match!
